Hey friend! How was your week?
Let's start this week's blog with something funny. I'm a big fan of the Foil Arms & Hog guys (a comedy trio from Dublin), and each week they upload a new video to YouTube. Here's one that might resonate with my fellow "Millenials".
“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” – Eckhart Tolle
You may have noticed that I like to experiment and try new things in order to improve my health and wellbeing (sleep and mood being the main focus over the past few months). I've wanted to track my sleep, the length and quality, for a while to see if and where I might be falling short. This week I picked up a Fitbit Charge 2 Activity Tracker that was on special offer in my local electronics shop. Mainly marketed as a fitness gadget for athletic types, it also gives you great insight into your sleep and heart rate trends, as well as steps taken, distance travelled and calories burned. Only using it a short time now but I've found it really worthwhile and I'm surprised about the lack of sleep I'm getting. It's gonna be an early night for me tonight I think!
I haven't shared much business orientated content over the past while, but here's a post I read during the week that I found really insightful on a few concepts that I haven't thought about since college. My good friend Daphne Lopes's latest blog post is all about understanding, recognising and developing disruptive innovation. If it sounds like your thing, definitely give it a read!
Can't beat a bit of Foo Fighters!
