Happy July! I hope you've been enjoying your summer so far and have gotten to soak up the sunny weather we've been having (no matter where in the world you are it seems!). Here are 5 things I'd like to share with you this week:
I'm a big fan of Tim Ferriss. I've been on somewhat of a 'life improvement' buzz since reading his book The 4 Hour Work Week, and really enjoy the podcasts and videos he's put out to date. This week he shared a short video on how to create content that sustains a career, where he talks about determining your objectives before creating the content you want to share with the world. I found it insightful and I think it might resonate with some of you too!
“You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.” - Ruth E. Renkl
This week I shared my recent interview with Brian Kenny, the founder of MiniCorp. Brian's a really interesting guy and I'm delighted I finally got to have a sit down with him to learn more about who he is and what he does. We chatted about how he started his business, what it takes to create a new product in 2018 and who has influenced him the most during his entrepreneurial journey. That's all I'm going to share about it here, so make sure you read the post and let me know what you think.
A good company culture is vital, and a company culture that encourages creativity among their employees is even better. MailChimp is one of those companies. Their organisation is full of creators and craftspeople who make and sell products on Etsy, at festivals and in local boutiques. With this in mind, late last year they decided to start their own internal market where creative employees could share and sell their side hustles to colleagues. What a great idea!
Nnic (Naoise Fitzgerald) is a Dublin based electronic artist and an old friend. What a voice! She's just jumped on Spotify and I can't wait to hear more from her.
