The first full work week of 2019 complete! How's everyone feeling? Here are 5 things I'd like to share with you today:
My first book of 2019 is Epictetus's "Of Human Freedom". Here's the synopsis: In this personal and practical guide to moral self-improvement and living a good life, the second-century philosopher Epictetus tackles questions of freedom and imprisonment, stubbornness and fear, family, friendship and love, and leaves an intriguing document of daily life in the classical world.
I finally got around to trying out the 4DX experience at my local Cineworld in Dublin. It's a cinematic experience that stimulates all five senses through some pretty nifty built-in tech: motion seats (think rollercoaster), wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water (yes, you get wet!), rain and scent machines, powerful surround sound and of course 3D glasses. It was an experience! Definitely recommend trying it out at least once, and for a movie that will really make the most use of all the tech. I went to Aquaman.. so you can just imagine how that was!
I also finally got around to watching the latest Black Mirror episode "Bandersnatch". This one is more like a film than a TV show, and something different than we're used to. In "Bandersnatch", viewers make decisions for the main character, the young programmer Stefan Butler, who is adapting a fantasy choose-your-own-adventure novel into a video game. It's good fun to participate in and I really enjoyed it. Check out the trailer below.

Came across these guys while in Portugal. Think The Police, but with Sting singing in Portuguese. Here's Jáfu'Mega with 'Latin'America'.
