Coming at you earlier in the day than usual with today's 5-Bullet Friday. Here's what I'd like to share with you this week:
If you follow my Twitter account you may have noticed that I've been sharing a lot of quotes from men with Greek-sounding names recently, and that's because I've been studying Stoicism quite a bit. The ancient Greco-Roman philosophy of Stoicism explains that while we may not always have control over the events affecting us, we can have control over how we approach things. Massimo Pigliucci describes the philosophy of Stoicism in this very well animated video on the TED-Ed YouTube channel. Gives a brief overview of what Stoicism is about and I'd recommend checking it out if you're not familiar with the philosophy.

My talk from WordCamp Dublin 2017 went up on WordPress TV this week. In it, I discuss how social media is helping destigmatise mental health in Ireland.
A few weeks back I shared my apple cider vinegar and honey concoction with you and how I was experimenting with it in order to get a better night's sleep. This week I'm trying Pukka's Relax Tea. The main difference here is the taste and lack of calories in comparison to the last bedtime drink I was trialing. It's described as a "deeply soothing fusion of organic chamomile, fennel and marshmallow root" and that it is. I'm having it an hour or so before I fall asleep and it's helping quite a bit with untangling my mind and winding down for the night. As always though, I'll give it a little bit of longer trial before deciding whether to stick with it or not. Are there any nighttime drinks that you'd recommend I try next?
I only discovered Tom Misch recently enough and dear god where has this guy been hiding all my life! Incredible voice and guitar playing. This is an instrumental track that I've been listening to quite a bit when in work mode. The guitar solo towards the end is simply elevating. Very John Mayer-esque, thought he was featuring on the track the first time I heard it. Wow. Enjoy!
