Hello everyone. How's your week been? Here are 5 things I'd like to share with you today:
Seth Godin's very short blog post "How to be honorable". If culture changes, why wouldn't our view on what is or isn't honorable change too? Read it here.
This week China made history by successfully germinating a cotton seed on the far side of the Moon, marking the first time any biological matter has been grown on the lunar surface. Pretty cool!
First in human history: A cotton seed brought to the moon by China's Chang'e 4 probe has sprouted, the latest test photo has shown, marking the completion of humankind's first biological experiment on the moon pic.twitter.com/CSSbgEoZmC— People's Daily, China (@PDChina) January 15, 2019
On January 4, an Instagram account called @world_record_egg was set up with a single stock image of an egg, along with the caption "Let's set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram.". The world record for the most liked Instagram photo (at the time) was held by Kylie Jenner, with over 18 million likes. Thanks to the great (weird) people of the Internet, it only took 10 days for the egg to surpass Kylie Jenner's pic. At the time of writing this, the egg has 48.3 million likes. A pretty amazing achievement.. more amazing than China's lunar cotton? We'll have to leave that one up to the history books.
