Oh hey everyone! It's been a while. Busy few weeks, hope you haven't missed me too much. Did you know it's been the hottest week in Ireland since 1976? Yep. Sure feels like it...
Here are 5 things I'd like to share with you this week:
As you may already know, I'm a big mental health advocate and love when I discover a new initiative around mental health awareness and support. Sip of Hope is the world's first coffee shop where 100% of proceeds support proactive suicide prevention and mental health education. Check out the (very American) TV news report on it. Anyone interested in setting up a similar cafe in Dublin?
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” - Aristotle
Welcome to Marwen is an upcoming American biographical drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis. Welcome to Marwen follows the journey of Mark Hogancamp (Steve Carell), a victim of a violent assault that constructs a miniature World War II village in his yard to help in his recovery. A quirky and interesting film going by the trailer. I look forward to checking it out!
This month I've been reading "The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life" by Mark Manson, and I've loved it. One thing I thought I'd share from it is Mark's "Do Something" principle, where he states "If you lack the motivation to make an important change in your life, do something — anything, really — and then harness the reaction to that action as a way to begin motivating yourself.". He believes that action leads to inspiration, which ultimately leads to motivation, becoming a loop of productivity that enables you to get shit done. You can read the excerpt from the book here to learn more about it.
More funky summer vibes right here for you!
