It's sometimes hard to find the good in the world. Every day the news is filled with death, destruction, sadness, evil. We wake to find another atrocity has occurred, another war has broken out, another comment section filled with bigotry and hate. It's easy to think the world is made up of only bad people, that there's no hope, and that the future is dark for the next generation - but that couldn't be further from the truth.
When the world feels dark, when you start to feel hopeless and helpless, it's at that moment that you must take action and create the light that you so desperately want to find. You've got to stand up, take a step and do something about it.
Over the last month, Giselle Chacon Nessi, Rosa Parozci and I have been working on creating more goodness in the world, with the aim of bringing light back into the lives of people that are experiencing some of the worst situations imaginable. On Saturday, we brought over 300 people together and fundraised over €4000 (we're still counting!) to help support those that are suffering due to the ongoing crisis in Venezuela. Together, through action, we made a difference in the lives of so many people, and for that, I'm truly grateful.
I want this message to act as two things:
1) A thank you to everyone who helped make Good Vibes for Venezuela a success. Thank you for donating your time, your money, lending a hand and supporting a cause worth fighting for. You’re all amazing people that continue to restore my faith in humanity.
2) An encouragement for those that feel helpless when it comes to changing the world we live in. If you see that no one is standing up for what's right, don't just wait for someone else to take action - I urge you to step up and take action yourself. I know it may be intimidating, even terrifying, but by doing nothing, by hoping someone else will fix the problem, the world won't change for the better and people will continue to suffer unnecessarily. You have the power to change that, even by just a little. And all of these little changes put together will make one hell of a difference. ❤️
